Epitomizing his approach, The Gardens at 900 his residence, studio, and shop in Lake Forest was originally designed for the Armour family in 1917 and was reimagined by Bergmann as a series of lush private garden rooms with hedges, towering topiary and perennial borders and interspersed with classical figures and ornament.
